They de-couple the plasterboard ceiling from its main structure, creating a “floating ceiling” that reduces the passage of airborne noise.Resilient bars can be used in conjunction with other sound proofing materials – such as acoustic plasterboard – to create an effective sound barrier.The resilient bar system complies with Part E building regulations and is the most popular conventional ceiling system for new builds and conversions. Although they are mainly used at ceiling level, they can also be installed in the floor cavity for the same purpose.
